Welcome!
We are a small farm located in South Central Michigan in the small town of Olivet. We keep a flock of sheep specially selected for producing high quality wool for the fiber arts market in a rainbow of natural colors. We vend at a number of fiber festivals around the state, with plans to venture into nearby states as well in the next few years. We offer a range of wool products, from raw fleeces to roving, batts, rolags, and finished handspun yarns. We also have selected individual sheep and starter flocks available for the handspinner who is interested in owning their own fiber supply. In addition to sheep, we keep angora rabbits as a supplier of luxury fiber.
Our sheep graze on open pastures managed in a way that promotes the physical and mental well-being of the flock as well as restoration of healthy soils and biodiversity that has been lost across much of the country due to large scale monocrop agriculture. We strive to preserve native species and live in harmony with the local wildlife as much as possible.
Our sheep share their pasture with a small herd of cattle that we raise for grass-fed beef. We currently only sell beef in bulk (whole, half, or quarter) in very limited amounts, but plan to expand production and get licensed to sell by the pound for those customers who do not want to purchase such a large amount. We also sell grass-fed lamb meat, eggs from pastured hens, and occasionally poultry meat.
We also manage a one-acre market garden producing unusual and heirloom vegetables, herbs, and cut flowers for sale at our roadside stand (soon to become a small on-farm store once we purchase a building, hopefully this summer) and local farmer’s markets. Custom bouquets are available for pickup as well. We do not do formal wedding work, but are open to providing bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, etc for more casual occasions.
